Let’s start with the real wine and food itineraries in Milan and its surroundings. Rather, I wish to start this review with one of the most desired destinations: the Langhe. That is to say a production area of the best Italian wines such as Barolo and Barbaresco, comparable to Chianti. The Langhe is placed between the provinces of Cuneo and Asti, near to other Piedmontese areas like Monferrato and Roero. And it’s easy to reach such places from Milan if you have at disposal a private driver and a luxury car as the ones suggested by Clab Service.
Leaving from Milan, after one hour and a half travel,we reach the Langhe, in the deep south-west Piedmont. Our route faces the hills which overlook Alba, plunges into the vineyards and cuts the roads flanked by hazelnut trees, a typical local production. The first tasting is devoted to Barolo, but it includes also other brands like Barbera and Nebbiolo.
The lunch will be in a typical restaurant in order to taste Piedmontese specialties, among which you cannot miss green anchovies, bagna cauda, veal with tuna sauce, truffle noodles, ravioli with sauce of the three roasts and the boiled meat.
